The tragic events of September 11, 2001 shocked and horrified us all. It’s a day we will never forget. Amidst the devastation, many ordinary people with extraordinary will and spirit quickly responded. These men and women acted with no regard for their own safety to save the lives of others. America was deeply moved by these acts rekindling a spirit our generation has never known. Today we are truly united with a spirit of patriotism, purpose and pride. This song is a tribute to those brave souls….. Tony Vergnetti.
Writing a song is a difficult process. Everything has to be in perfect position. This song came somewhat differently. Tony’s passionate words, and melodies inspired me to write the arrangements and orchestration which lead to a powerful composition. Someone was looking over all of us as the musicians of hometown Scranton, Pennsylvania, executed the composition, which we completed in four hours. A labor of love became a labor of gratitude. It was not only a privilege, but an honor to be associated with this wonderful project. A special thank you to Sound Investment Studios and WEA manufacturing for believing in this project.
